Annette Harston
Annette was born and raised on a farm in Allen County, her parents are Rex and Patricia Hix, who continue to farm.  Allen County is a special place to live and she loves providing a service to the citizens of this county.  Each family is special and Annette enjoys being a part of their lives as her clients adapt to parenting, and finds her work as tobacco prevention specialist equally rewarding.

Annette graduated from Allen County High School in 1981.  She began her nursing career in 1986 as an LPN.  She then went back to school and became a Registered Nurse in 1989.  Annette has been employed at the Allen County Health Department for 12 years as a senior community health nurse.  Her roles have varied through the years from home health, clinic nurse, HANDS Coordinator and Tobacco Prevention and Education Specialist.  Annette married Michael Joe Harston in 1999;  they have one child, Aubrey Ann, age 13.  Annette and her family enjoy fishing, camping, and boating.  Additionally, her daughter Aubrey keeps her busy around the state showing boar goats competitively.
